DNA Database, An Garda Siochana, Breaking news, Crime, Crime news, the irish observerI disagree for two reasons, the majority of women murdered in domestic situations are murdered by people who have no previous convictions, indeed, many where law abiding citizens, professional killers such as those who murdered Alan Ryan will never be brought to justice, DNA will simply be used to ensure conviction even in cases where only circumstantial evidence exists - juries have made grievous errors in cases where they have been blinded by ‘science’, DNA is not an absolute science, in the 1970s we were told that certain techniques were scientifically sound only to find the Birmingham Six, Guildford 4 and so forth being subject to grievous human rights abuses on the basis of ‘good science’. Will DNA identify those who bankrupted this country and who are responsible for untold misery and suffering, will DNA identify the sweaty palms that clenched in the deep pile carpets of luxury hotels while our country was put up for auction. This country is riddled with miscarriages of justice, let’s not copper-fasten that injustice with ‘good science’.
